The research triangle community area includes Raleigh, Cary, Chapel Hill and Durham along with several other smaller municipal entities. It is characterized by its diverse population (numbering over a million people collectively), a highly-educated work force and the prominent universities of Duke, the University of North Carolina and North Carolina State University.
